INFANT COMMUNITY

1 Year to 3 Years

What Makes It Special

  • A Child-Sized World
Every element of the environment is designed for the child — low shelves, small furniture, and accessible materials — allowing them to move and act independently with confidence.

  • Independence in Everyday Life
Children are given real opportunities to care for themselves and their surroundings — from eating and dressing to cleaning and organizing.

  • Language Comes Alive
This is a period of rapid language development. Through rich conversation, songs, and real experiences, children naturally absorb and express language.

  • Movement with Purpose
Climbing, carrying, pouring, and walking — every movement is meaningful and helps refine coordination and control.

  • A Gentle Introduction to Community
Children begin to interact with others, learning patience, respect, and early social awareness within a calm and supportive environment.

This is a space where the child begins to say, “I can do it myself.”

Our Approach

In the Infant Community, learning happens through real experiences, movement, and meaningful activity — supporting the child’s natural development.

  • Practical Life (Care of Self and Environment)
Children engage in everyday activities like dressing, cleaning, and caring for their surroundings — building independence, coordination, and a sense of responsibility.

  • Food Preparation
Simple food-related activities allow children to participate in daily life, fostering independence, concentration, and respect for food.

  • Sensorial Exploration (PSMD – Psycho-Sensory Motor Development)
Through movement and sensory experiences, children refine their coordination, balance, and awareness of their body and surroundings.

  • Language Development
Rich conversations, songs, and real experiences support the child’s natural absorption and expression of language.

  • Music and Art
Children are offered opportunities for self-expression through music, rhythm, and creative exploration.

Social Development
Within a small community, children begin to develop awareness of others — learning patience, respect, and early social skills.

Areas of Development

In the Primary Community, the child’s natural curiosity is guided into deeper exploration and understanding.

The environment offers a rich range of materials and experiences that support the development of the whole child.

Practical Life (Care of Self and Environment)
Children continue to refine independence through purposeful activities that build coordination, responsibility, and a sense of order.

  • Sensorial Exploration
Through carefully designed materials, children refine their senses and develop the ability to observe, compare, and understand the world around them.

  • Language
The child moves from spoken language to reading and writing through a phonetic approach — developing strong communication and expression.

  • Mathematics
Concrete materials allow children to experience mathematical concepts physically, gradually leading them toward abstract understanding.

  • Culture (Geography, Botany, Zoology, and More)
Children are introduced to the wider world, developing curiosity, respect, and a sense of connection to nature and different cultures.

  • Art and Music
Opportunities for creative expression support imagination, rhythm, and appreciation for beauty.

Social Development
Within a mixed-age community, children learn collaboration, empathy, leadership, and respect for others.
